This release is the second in a three release series devoted to the recordings made by Sir Eugene Goossens and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra between 1947 and 1952. The majority of these recordings were originally issued commercially by HMV, but also included is an off-air performance of Goossens conducting his own First Symphony, in the third volume. The entire production of this set of recordings was masterminded and managed by Malcolm Walker and it was completed shortly before his death in January 2023.
