Tracks 1 and 2 were probably recorded at the Saga Studio, Maresfield Gardens, London NW3, during 1961 and were released in early 1962 as Classics Club X1004 with the solo pianist named as 'Rolf Olsen'. To the best of our knowledge these recordings have never been reissued.
Track 3 was probably produced by Jim Dalton and recorded at the Saga Studio, Maresfield Gardens, London NW3, during 1962 and was released around July 1963 as Classics Club X1057 with the solo pianist named as Maurice Cole.

In a review published in The Gramophone in November 1962, of Cole's recording of Bach's 48, his playing was aptly described thus: '"…unfailing musicality, control of part-playing, complete accuracy, admirably firm rhythm, and an avoidance of all posturing and pretentiousness.'
